SEMINYAK
Seminyak is more upmarket with mostly luxury accommodation and fashionable high-end restaurants and bars. The atmosphere is much more sophisticated and laid-back than Kuta, is also the high end spa and boutique shopping capital of Bali. Nowhere is the up-scaling of Bali in recent years more obvious than here. It is hard to imagine that only ten years ago this was a distinctly separate village, and something of a backwater. |
LEGIAN
Legian is a beachfront town in South Bali, located north of Kuta and south of Seminyak. Aside from the obvious (the gorgeous beach!), there is not a great deal to see in Legian. It is a place where visitors stay, shop, eat, drink and go to the beach. High end bar and music club are at this spot. |

Nusa Dua is known as an enclave of large international 5-star resorts in south-eastern Bali. It is located 40 kilometres from Denpasar, the provincial capital of Bali, and administered under Kuta South District. Nusa Dua means two islands. Nusa Dua is home to the most popular golf course in Bali and the main convention centre on the island. The beaches here are glorious - white sand, deep, long and safe for swimming. |

Lovina is a coastal area on the northwestern side of the island of Bali, The coastal strip stretches from 5 km west of the city of Singaraja, a plenty habitat of dolphins. PADANG BAY
A small town in eastern Bali, near Candidasa. It serves as a ferry port for travel to Lombok, The Gilis and other of the Lesser Sunda Islands. It is also a lovely beach town that is popular with those who prefer a small town atmosphere over the large scale beach party. Besides the beach near the ferry terminal there is a beach just to the north known locally as the Blue Lagoon and the especially nice Secret Beach just to the south of town. Blue Lagoon has two family owned warungs that will be glad to prepare a meal and serve beer. Many people go to Padangbay to Scuba Dive. |
KINTAMANI
Kintamani is a location on the western edge of the larger caldera wall of Gunung Batur in Bali. It is on the same north-south road as Penelokan and has been used as a stopping place to access and view the Gunung Batur region. Kintamani is also internationally famous for Pura Tuluk Biyu 1000 year old Rites of Peace Presasti stone tablets, Pura Ulun Danu as one of biggest temple in Bali. |
BEDUGUL
is a mountain lake resort area, located in the centre-north region of the island near Lake Bratan, Lake Buyan, and lake Tamblingan. Bedugul enjoys a mild mountain weather due to its location at an altitude of about 1,500 metres (4,900 ft) above the sea level.Major sites in Bedugul are the Pura Ulun Danu Bratan water temple and the Eka Karya Botanic Gardens. The Botanic Garden, opened in 1959. With a total area of 157.5 hectares (389 acres) is the largest in Indonesia. |
AMED & TULAMBEN
Amed is the most recent tourist development area in Bali. It was only in 2000 that tarmac was laid on the roads. This is the most commonly used base for visitors wishing to dive the USS Liberty wreck at Tulamben. There are other good dive sites close at hand and a thriving dive industry has developed all the way along the coast here. Amed's inhabitants live from fishing, salt-making and tourism. |
TANAH LOT
Tanah Lot is one of the important directional temples in Bali. The temple is located on a rock just offshore. It is said to be the work of revered 15th century Hindu priest Nirartha and forms an important element of Balinese spirtualism and mythology. This is an extremely popular tourist destination and the whole area is often very busy indeed, especially in the late afternoons, pre-sunset. |

Pemuteran Bay is in the quiet north west of Bali. A small laid-back village which has become increasingly popular with visitors in recent years. In the background of the bay are majestic mountain tops, the sea is free of current and perfect for swimming. It has the largest area of shallow reefs in Bali.
